Steiner auction featuring many unique Yankee items

Spirited bidding is sure to be in order on the final three days of the Steiner Sports Collectibles  “Legends Auction” which concludes on Sunday, December 6, with unprecedented Yankee Stadium artifacts featured, highlighted by seats from the legendary owner George M. Steinbrenner’s suite, a rare Babe Ruth autographed baseball, signed by the “Bambino” himself; two original, weathered wooden seats vintage 1923, authentic ticket booths and turnstiles, and the classic “Be Alert Foul Balls” sign.
The vintage memorabilia from the time-honored monument known as the “House That Ruth Built” is available on-line with the auction concluding at various intervals of the day on Sunday.
“Sign, Sign, Everywhere a Sign” are the lyrics from the Five Man Electrical Band’s classic 1970 tune, and there sure are plenty of original Stadium signs up for grabs. Along with the aforementioned “Be Alert Foul Balls” signs of intrigue also include:  “Caution, Slippery when Wet”; “No video Cameras, Backpacks or Briefcases”; and “Men ß Refreshments ß Women ß” just to name a few.
Champagne Bottles, game-used bases from the final season, and a piece of the padded outfield wall are also up for auction, as well as items featuring such legends as Joe DiMaggio, Phil Rizzuto, Yogi Berra, and Mickey Mantle, and modern day stars like A-Rod, Jeter and Mariano.
Says Steiner Sports founder Brandon Steiner:  “This auction
truly has something for everyone, with almost every Yankee hero past and present represented.   There are so many old and rare items, that collectors will certainly be getting some deals if they scour through what’s available.”
