Peter Carlisle, agent for Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, told CNBC’s Darren Rovell that he’s been fielding more than 50 endorsement pitches per day for his client, including some from the collectibles industry.
“We’re currently receiving numerous offers from many of the leaders in the memorabilia industry,” Carlisle told CNBC. “What has been most interesting is the extent to which the interest and offers have increased on a day-to-day basis as Michael has succeeded. We intend to consider all the options in the context of our overall plan and strategy and move forward accordingly.”
Phelps isn’t the only one fielding endorsement offers. The swimmer’s mother signed a deal last week with Johnson & Johnson.
