Pittsburgh Penguins phenom, NHL leading scorer and Upper Deck exclusive spokesman Sidney Crosby garnered the most fan votes – 825,783 – for the 2007 NHL All-Star Game in Dallas. Crosby, has been a hockey card juggernaut – many of his cards from his first season to this year remain some of the most popular cards in the marketplace.
“Obviously, Sidney’s prowess on the ice has crossed over into the hockey card market by remaining at the top of hobby trade publications must-have lists throughout his young career,” said Joe Fallon, Director of Product Development for Upper Deck. “Crosby’s 2005-2006 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey, Black Diamond, SP Game Used and The Cup Hockey cards are three of his most popular cards among collectors and are consistently atop the top single card sales charts every month.”
Crosby is the youngest All-Star to be voted in as a starter by the fans and is six months younger than Jaromir Jagr was in 1992 when he started for the Wales Conference. Only Jagr, who earned 1,020,736 votes in 2000, has picked up more than Crosby’s total this year.
