Highland Mint adds two new managers

A former professional hockey player and a former television sports director have joined The Highland Mint as regional sales managers, the company announced today.  Bruce Garber of Midland, Georgia, and Keith Spaulding of Lexington, Kentucky, will both work out of the company’s headquarters in Melbourne, Florida.
Garber played professional hockey for several teams including the Milwaukee Admirals and Johnstown Red Wings in the late 1970s and early 1980s before coaching college hockey in Rhode Island through the early 1990s and serving as a high school athletic director in the state until 1994.  He went on to coach professional hockey and serve as a director of player personnel for several teams.
From 2003 to 2007, Garber was a national sales manager for The Memory Company, a manufacturer of sports licensed gifts and home décor based in Phenix City, Alabama.  Most recently, he was director of sales for Farrell Sports Concepts in Walpole, Massachusetts.
Spaulding headed up a three-person sports department at ABC-affiliate WTVQ-TV in Lexington from 2001 to 2003, increasing the station’s viewership through local coverage of college, high school and youth sports in a 21-county area.  For the next five years, he was a regional sales manager for Hunter Manufacturing, LLP of Lexington, earning Sales Manager of the Year honors in both 2005 and 2006.
He was promoted to business development manager at Hunter Manufacturing in 2008, focusing on big box, large regional chains and team account growth.  Spaulding was credited with opening new accounts with Goody’s Family Clothing and Cracker Barrel, and he increased sales with clients including Hibbett Sporting Goods, Chick’s Sporting Goods, Sports Chalet, Academy Sports and Outdoors and Sports Fan Attic.
