Hornung to Retire from Autograph Circuit

Football Hall of Famer Paul Hornung, a frequent autograph guest at sports collectibles shows, has announced he will no longer appear at shows after this year.

“I enjoy it, but this is my last year,” he told Sports Collectors Digest. “I’m 70 years old. Next year it’s over for me. I want to go for a hip operation in December. I’m not going to make any more appearances. I’m going to retire. This is it. I’ve done enough of it in my life.”

Hornung said that he will still sign autographs for people who might come up to him on the street, but he will not participate in any organized signing events.
