Donruss Playoff Launches National Trading Card Promotion With Frito Lay

Donruss Playoff is distributing 4 million NFL trading cards in select bags
of Frito Lay Family Sacks as part of a “Back to School” promotion taking place throughout January in Wal-Mart stores and select supermarkets across the country. The Donruss name and three card images will appear on the 24-bag Frito Lay Family Sack as well as point-of-purchase displays.

“We are extremely excited to be partnering with Frito Lay on this highlyvisible promotion,” said Donruss Playoff VP Mike Anderson. “This product was created specifically for families and with Donruss Playoff being able to include trading cards, it’s a creative way to directly reach kids.”

Four cards are included in every pack, with one card promoting the NFL Rush website ( where kids can enter contests to win NFL prizes, learn more about their favorite players, view player journals, read exclusive interviews, view player birthdates and play interactive games.

The 25-card set features such top rookies as Reggie Bush, Vince Young andMatt Leinart, along with veteran stars like Brett Favre, Brian Urlacher, LaDainian Tomlinson, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. Five checklist cards feature combinations of the league’s top rookies.
Each player will have a base “Frito Lay” card, while some will also be
featured on parallel versions carrying the Doritos logo. The most rare
versions will feature the Cheetos logo.
