Boston Red Sox ace Daisuke Matsuzaka will be the seventh player to be unveiled by Upper Deck for its SPX Baseball mystery rookie redemption card program (card #128). Early online sales for the Matsuzaka SPX redemption have been around $250. Upper Deck is working tirelessly to acquire an autograph deal with the pitcher known by only one name, Daisuke. If an agreement is not reached before production begins each redemption card will be replaced with a rookie triple jersey memorabilia card featuring the star pitcher. Each SPX Baseball mystery rookie redemption card will be autographed. To date, the company has announced, in order, Tim Lincecum (#106, $200), Phillip Hughes (#107, $60), Mark Reynolds (#110, $50), Homer Bailey (#113, $40), Kevin Slowey (#118, $40) and Ryan Braun (#120, $100) as mystery rookie redemptions in SPX Baseball. The company will announce every week a new rookie redemption player until all eight players have been revealed.
