Hunt Auctions returns to Louisville, Ky., on Nov. 10-11 to conduct the third annual Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory Live Auction, with a lineup that includes unique pieces from Joe DiMaggio and Roy Campanella in a two-day sale of more than 1,000 lots.
Highlights from the sale include Roy Campanella’s 1951 National League MVP Award (which carries a $150,000-$200,000 pre-auction estimate), Joe Jackson professional model baseball bat circa 1911-15 ($75,000-$125,000), Mickey Mantle 1960 World Series game-used bat ($40,000-$60,000), and a Ty Cobb game-used bat circa 1917-21 ($40,000-$60,000).
The first session of 250 lots on Friday evening will offer the last opportunity to obtain items from Joe DiMaggio’s personal collection, which Hunt has been featuring in its auctions since the historic New York City sale this past May. The roster of items includes autographed pieces, photography, equipment and several Marilyn Monroe related items. All lots are being offered directly by the DiMaggio family.
The auction will also include autographed jerseys from the 2006 MLB All-Star Home Run Derby/Workout Day, with proceeds benefiting MLB’s Baseball Assistance Team. A total of 65 jerseys will be sold, including Ryan Howard, Albert Pujols, Derek Jeter and David Ortiz.
