This "throwback" product has a unique look and feel with its canvas stock and top notch artistry. A truly exceptional product that should appeal to "old school" and modern collectors with its blend of retired greats and current stars. The base set features exceptional artwork that captures some memorable moments in baseball's rich history including Carlton Fisk willing his Game 6 World Series home run to stay fair, Lou Gehrig at his Yankee Stadium farewell speech, Reggie Jackson's 3 home run World Series game and capturing Ozzie Smith airborne during one of his signature flips.
Each box produced an autograph, three memorabilia inserts and seven parallels. Collectors will also want to check out the Jumbo Box Toppers that feature many classic shots, the two we pulled were Gehrig and Ruth on their final appearance at Yankee Stadium. Overall, this product is a definite winner that will surely appeal to set collectors of all ages.

Out of the two boxes we opened, we pulled several inserts of the big name NASCAR drivers. Pulling the Kahne glove memorabilia card from the one box was a good pull. We were hoping for a better autograph than Tony Raines from the other box, but you can't always get everything. All in all, both boxes provided good cards.

Thanks for checking out my first Bustin' Wax blog entry. As Joe Clemens has pointed out in an earlier blog, our intention is to provide the reader with immediate feedback on new sports card releases, ranging from our personal opinions regarding the product, product notes, collation reports and any other information that is useful for the collector interested in new releases.
I've been a sports card collector since my cousin gave me a 1978 Topps Roger Staubach when I was in fourth grade. Since then, I have collected mostly baseball and football cards. I've dabbled in some basketball card and NASCAR card collecting also. My collecting habits have changed throughout the years, but once it is in your blood, it's hard to stop collecting.
We welcome all feedback and any suggestions that can help collectors, because that's what we're here for.

2007 Topps Allen & Ginter

2007 Topps Allen & Ginter Box Break
Box 1
- National Pride Cabinet box topper - South Korea
- Relics - Manny Ramirez bat, Scott Rolen jersey
- One Alex Rodriguez Road to 500
- 24 Mini Parallels
- 24 Dick Perez Sketch inserts
Box 2
- National Pride Cabinet box topper - United States
- Relics - Dontrelle Willis jersey, Paul LoDuca jersey
- Autographs- Ted Toles
- 24 Mini Parallels
- 24 Dick Perez Sketch inserts
Our first box produced two Relics and no autographs. We received two black border Mini Parallels and four Allen & Ginter back minis along with 18 regular minis.
The second box was a bit better with three hits. We pulled two Relics and one Ted Toles Autograph. The Mini Parallels fell exactly like the first box with two black border, four Allen & Ginter back and 18 regular minis. Each box also produced 24 of the one per pack Dick Perez Sketch inserts. We didn't pull any rare inserts or parallels out of either box.
Overall, this product is very similar to last year's successful debut release. The Autograph checklist is what sets it apart from your typical sports product as stars from boxing, racing, track, soccer, wrestling, as well as historical figures are all featured. Its not often a collector can pull Dwight Eisenhower and Mark Twain in a pack along with your standard baseball stars. The unique nature of this product is definitely part of the appeal to collectors looking for something different. As a whole our staff felt too much space was devoted to the white border and could've devoted more space to the featured image. That may be nitpicking and overall this product is a refreshing change.
– Joe Clemens

Upper Deck Artifacts Baseball
Posted by Tuff Stuff
Thanks for checking out our first Bustin' Wax blog entry. Our
intention is to provide the reader with immediate feedback on new
sports card releases, ranging from our personal opinions regarding the
product, product notes, collation reports and any other information
that is useful for the collector interested in new releases.
I've been a sports card collector since I was five years old and
fondly remember many trips my parents used to make to the local store
to satisfy my collecting urges. I mostly collected baseball and
football cards in my youth along with anything relating to the Green
Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. My passion for collecting lead me to
start my own sports card shop and eventually I landed at Krause
Publications. I've been a baseball and hockey price guide analyst since
1993 and remain an avid collector.
All of the Tuff Stuff pricing editors will contribute to this column, including myself (Joe Clemens, baseball and hockey), Bert Lehman (football and racing) and Steve Bloedow (basketball). We welcome all feedback and any suggestions that can help collectors, because that's what we're here for.
Upper Deck Artifacts Box Break
- 10 Packs - 4 cards per pack
-
Antiquity Artifacts Jersey - Jermaine Dye serial numbered to 199
-
Artifacts Apparel - Joel Zumaya serial numbered to 199
-
Divisional Artifacts - Ryan Zimmerman serial numbered to 199
-
Apparel Autograph - Greg Maddux redemption
Most collectors would have been happy with the Maddux pull since it
basically pays for the box. Artifacts offers an impressive autograph
lineup featuring Ripken Jr., Roger Clemens, Derek Jeter, Ken Griffey
Jr. etc ..., so collectors have a reasonable chance of pulling a star
autograph, as our box demonstrated. The base set is small at only 100 cards
and features rookie cards of Andrew Miller and Matsuzaka.
Upper Deck has announced the addition of several thousand game used
buy-back cards to 2007 Artifacts Baseball. The cards were acquired
from brands like SP Authentic, Pros & Prospects, Ultimate
Collection and SP Legendary Cuts to name a few. Collectors can find
highly collectible game used buy-back cards from MLB Superstars like
Roger Clemens, Ken Griffey Jr., Sammy Sosa, Greg Maddux and more. – Joe Clemens
